I do not envy some of those persons at this juncture, agreement or disagreement with their policies has nothing to do with that. I think some of those fellows may be in danger come this summer, serious danger. I don't see how any security system in an open country can be expected to totally protect them.

I might add I do not agree with a lot of the longer term policies the US has implemented in the ME and maybe elsewhere over the years, and those policies imo are responsible. I do not understand why failed policies within the US gov't are so hard to be changed. The two parties in reality differ little in many respects. Vietnam was a classic example. We smashed lives over there for 15 plus years before we pulled out. I got into a disagreement with a Repub -- he blamed the whole thing on Johnson using the premise we could not be expected to wind down fast. We could have pulled out within 2 months, any time we wanted to. Nixon chose not to, until election time drew near. Even after that it took a long time to really pull out. Nixon's choice may have marked the real beginning of TV and polling politicos. What an era that was. When I see TV shows about that whole era the first thought that comes to my mind is hey I lived through those times. I was part of history.

I work as a higher level engineer. I make mistakes from time to time within my company. I have always found it best to readily admit them, and get on down the road with making it right. I have also found this results in more respect than taking a pig headed approach. Denial and/or inaction is the worst thing to do. When you do something wrong you should learn something, and not take a similar course the next time.

It is no different within the successful world of investing.
