For all that Jay's beloved Freedom Rock is to him and other entrepreneurial types it is also a huge slap in the face to many Chinese as the last remaining vestige of Western Imperialism to fall back to China. It was stolen from the Chinese as were other towns as a result of the opium wars (another one of Britain's altruistic expeditionary efforts which is why IMO hypocrites like Tony Blair are so full of $hit).

Anyway I don't believe Hong Kong is a big factor from the PRC leadership point of view in the future of China. They would rather promote say Shanghai IMO..
