I agree - it seems that politics and games are played in dirty forms throughout the world. This is why I often urge others to look at the big picture. It often translates into ego, greed and fear, each and all of which can provide explanations, for better or worse, for most human action.

As a separate item of discussion, I have started reading more about India. As a student, I remember all the discussion about the divides in Indian society, the terrible caste system, the discrimination. On the other hand, the works of Gandi and his non-violent movement is something that has not been matched since.

My question to you is this - India has been enjoying an incredible financial benefit over the past decade. Has this raised the lowest levels of society that had suffered so much in the past. Is the discrimination and differences among societal groups less as a result of this wealth?

It seems that the new government will be open to continuing relations with the US and with continuing the path of free markets as opposed to extreme socialism.
