So we should hold ourselves up for comparison to some of the most repressive societies on earth? Why not? Especially if we are being criticized by countries whose human rights records are on the south side of abysmal. Our proven capacity for correcting these things and for effective self-examination gives us the absolute right to say: "Who the f*** are you to criticize me, gangster?"
