Let's talk about energy prices since Bush was nominated. Energy prices are something Cheney, Bush and friends personally had direct power over, and in many cases committed outright fraud to manipulate.

Clinton did not have any power over dot.com stock prices. To blame Clinton for CMGI being at $200 is just plain silly. We are the ones to blame for that, we (ex?) dot.com stock buyers. And now we have bubbles in other areas, like real estate and some stock sectors. Is Bush personally responsible for inflated real estate prices? Of course not. It's the speculators. People betting the price will go even higher. It's always buyer beware. But in the are of energy Cheney and Bush could have indeed made a huge difference. But they seem to invite higher prices. It fits their agenda and rewards their contributors. They also fought against the McCain-Kerry fuel efficiency bill and got it defeated. Very bad move for the American people.
