What a lot of you forget is that the WMD debate not only involved WMD in Saddam's hands at the time of the war but his future intentions and abilities to obtain them given the fact that containment was indisputably breaking down.

What exactly do you think would have happened if Saddam were in place now armed with a few nukes he obtained from N. Korea, Pakistan, or wherever? Recall that Saddam has been quoted as saying that his strategic mistake when he invaded Kuwait in 1990 was doing so before he developed a nuke.

You don't think the West's security and economies would be in jeopardy if he had gotten a nuclear weapon or three?
