Kerry's 4mo tour of duty in Vietnam is suspect. He managed to gain medals with barely a scratch in that brief period of time?? His sole defense when questioned by a reporter re the circumstances surrounding the 1st purple heart was "no one has questioned it until now". In fact, his CO at the time has stated that John Kerry pleaded with him to submit the medal request & the MD that treated the "wound" said that it required merely antiseptic and a bandaid. How many men do you know who would request & accept a purple heart under the same circumstances? It's obvious that John Kerry was already planning to run for political office & assumed the medals would help. He was stunned to learn upon returning home that war protesters were more popular than veterans, but quickly adapted to the reality of what it would take to win an election in Mass at the time....and so another war protester was born.
