Hey, Clyde the Glide! He played locally at SIU. That's a program that grows and grows. Makes the NCAA occasionally, including this year. The local big-time team, Illinois, hired SIU's coach away from them this year (Bruce Webber). BTW, all of Illinois' starters were underclassmen this year, and they'll be back. The only senior on the team didn't play much.
I'd say watch 'em next year, but nobody in the Big Ten does much any more.
I loved basketball, but stopped growing at 14 years. I was starting center in Jr. High, then a forward with good defense, then a big slow guy who couldn't compete at guard. Played baseball, ran quarter-mile, and played receiver in football. Then I discovered girls, and life got better. |
