Oh, OK, the world should hold the Israelis to the same standard that it holds the Palestinians, otherwise the Israelis will become monsters.

From the source you cited:
But if Israelis aren't ready to give up, they are asking themselves the question: What is this conflict turning us into? And they're worried about the answer.

Much of the blame lies with external parties. Europe and the U.S. have in particular demonstrated an astonishing double standard to the conflict, characterized by unreasonably high expectations of Israeli conduct and unreasonably low expectations of Palestinians.

This subversive effect of this double standard is hard to underestimate. It gives Israelis every reason to discount any criticism directed at them; and it encourages bad behavior among Palestinians.

It argues that a double standard encourages bad behavior, thus, apparently, the world must hold both sides to the same standards.

If you're satisfied with being held to the same standard as the PLO, Hamas and Hezbollah, to me, that's sad. Very sad indeed.

But saying that being held to a higher standard causes Israelis to become monsters, is worse than sad.
