>>>Let me let you in on a little trading play of mine. I play rec's the opposite way. If there is a buy rec, I normally sell into it. If there is a downgrade or series of downgrades in a good issue, I am a buyer. Why?Well, when a firm downgrades a stock, they are really buyers. When they upgrade it, they are loaded to the gills and sellers. So if they want to sell, I do also.<<<
Yes, I agree. Although I'm not certain you mean you sell into strength, or sell short? Regardless, you know what's great about your tactic, though? I'm usually the guy who's riding in your wake. Example: I prefer to avoid shorting (keeps my mind focused in one direction), so I would never sell short into a buy recommendation...but as for selling into strength (mind you, I do the same), after a stock surges at the open when a firm upgrades to open the gates for the sheep to graze, I usually wait at the sidelines for you wolves to show up and chase the sheep back into the ranch...then I follow you all in and pounce when the stock settles down before the next rally when more sheep arrive...then I sell into the strength and repeat as I see fit. In abstract ways, we traders create opportunities for each other to profit off the longs (and other traders who are too slow and get left behind)...how ------- philosophical. ;)
