I agree, if there's going to be a draft, it should be done on a fair basis in which everyone capable of serving serves. But, this is the U.S., not some egalitarian socialist European country. A proposal like that won't fly in the U.S. What will come out of any draft bill will be one riddled with convient loopholes so the wealthy can avoid service. It will be no different than any other legislation coming out of DC that favors the wealthy. Even if initially the draft bill appears fair to gain public support, the ever-present wealthy elites will ensure that loopholes are placed into the later legislation that waters down the draft.
