My next door neighbor is a Republican, although a rather moderate one, and she's thinking of abandoning Bush. She's not at all happy with the Iraq situation and the pictures of torture from the prison over there. She's waking up to what's going on. It's not even like I'm trying to win her over, she came out and started taling about politics over dinner last week.

Yes, gas is a BIG issue with consumers. Of course, these are windfall profits times for the oil cabal. It's a hard call on what they'll do about oil prices. They're probably counting on them falling this fall on seasonable flucations after the summer. If they're wrong about that, it will hurt the Rs at the polls. Even stupid Southern yahoos are smart enough to know that high gas prices hurt their pocketbook. We might get some Bubba votes for Kerry this fall. :-)
