Anna - valid points, but I really think of it as separate from a checking account. I wouldn't allocate assets to a GoldMoney account that I thought I might need any time in the near future - same with coins. More like, buy it and put it away.

After a little more investigation, I found out that there is a $3 fee to use the electronic check feature. Not free but still a fraction of what a wire transfer would cost. Also, it takes one to two days for the transaction to clear depending on when the order is submitted (after 18:00 GMT, it's 2 days).

As far as getting more sellers to accept GM, it is incumbent upon those who buy the concept of gold as real money to start requesting it (where it makes sense) or at least planting seeds (to get them to start thinking about it). Cheers!
