Extremists will not be allowed to rule country, says Musharraf

ISLAMABAD: President Pervez Musharraf has said that extremists can never be allowed to take reins of the leadership of Pakistan and we all have to jointly struggle for elimination of the extremists from the country, sources reported on Monday.

He said, “Since Pakistan has hailed restoration of Pakistan’s membership of Common Wealth, we will not allow anyone to take undue or any illegitimate advantage from it.”

Talking to Students’ Convention held here at the Jinnah Convention Center Islamabad, he president said as to achieving national progress was not possible until and unless extremism had not been eradicated from Pakistani society.

He said: “The present government is well committed to improve education system and for the development of this sector the government has earmarked nine billion and 60 crore against last year’s budget rupees five billion. And, fifty percent of the said total amount for education will be increased each year.”

The convention was attended by students of colleges and universities from all over the country, who also voices their suggestions on how the national educational systems can be modernized and bettered.
