Here's a weird one. I'm on a trip to Arizona, and today I visited the Home Depot in Sun City West to get some potting material for warm-weather seeds I need to start here and take back to Alaska. I wandered around in the outside nursery section under the netting for a while, and finally got directed to the interior of the store. As I walked in I startled a mourning dove that flew further into the store. Eventually I found the peat pots I wanted, and then looked for the potting soil.

As I stepped away from the peat pots, I flushed the mourning dove again. It had been inside a large open cardboard display box on the bottom shelf. Sure enough, the box was full of plastic bags of bird seed! One of the bags had been pecked open, and the bird had been feeding from it. I swear this really happened!
