The right-wing has many activist judges who want to restrict your rights in many different ways. They also want the rightwing church and state to be connected.

Moderate non-political judges are the best but Bush isn't appointing any of those.

Also, don't assume judges who say gay marriage is OK are activists. Some of them are just reading the law. They'd be activists if they went against the law. I'm not for gay marriage but the law is the law.
