To avoid losing they will do what they need to, instituting checkpoints, cordons, border fences, etc.

Checkpoints, cordons, and border fences have never been very effective counterinsurgency measures in the past. The same can be said of torture, death squads, and a number of other tactics.

Are you suggesting that their tactics are more effective than ours, and that the only way we can win is to set our standards of conduct aside and adopt theirs?
