To compare the American occupation and a few unprofessional soldiers actions in Abu Ghraib prison, to the horror and torture that Saddam inflicted on the people of Iraq, the hell, which was Hitler, or the deranged mind of a Ted Bundy, is what is bogus CB.

In regard to your sugar coating supposition; I have done nothing of the sort, all I have attempted to say is perspective is needed in regard to a discussion of human rights in Iraq.

Depravity is depravity. You're seeing inferences and statements where none exists. But human rights are a different ball of wax. Human rights and the valuing of freedom and liberty should encompass more than one action.

We have police brutality in the streets of America every day, does that mean our country is the equivalent of NK?

We have rapes occur, probably by the hundreds every year in American prisons, does that mean our entire system of human right rights is akin to Libya’s?

We have lawyers who lie, cheat and steal justice from the American system of jurisprudence every day in America, does that mean our human rights and lawful society are akin to Sudan's?

Perspective CB. That's all I am saying...perspective...

While the acts of a few pathetic soldiers were ugly, gruesome and wrong, there are a thousand other acts happening, which present the opposite picture. Those acts are in keeping with our values as a nation. And we shouldn't forget them when discussing human rights in Iraq.

We should also not forget, if it weren’t for the brave sacrifice of our soldiers, and those who supported Hussein’s removal by force, Iraq would be still living in the hellhole of fear, torture and brutality which were the “human rights conditions” of life under Saddam Hussein’s rule.

Lastly, we should also not forget who fought against Saddam’s removal by force, and in so doing, guaranteed he would have continued his reign of murder, torture and human rights abuses.

The Abu Ghraib prison scandal and its corresponding human rights abuses, pale in comparison to Saddam’s torture cells, Hitler’s murder chambers, or Ted Bundies murderous rampage. And there is a strange fascination for national martyrdom to suggest otherwise.
