I heard that unemployment is still running 60% although it's anyone's guess how accurate that is. Still, even if unemployment was running 20% that would still be a severe depression and cause for general lawlessness and misery.

Apparently the economy is back up to where it was during Saddam's time. That means for an entire year it was actually running below that. Saddam had severe sanctions on the economy and we're just back up to that level.

Next up: I predict that people in the US are going to get very tired of hearing Bush pronounce that we're building this and that a thing in Iraq, providing this and that a thing for Iraqis while people here are worried about gas prices and jobs.

We bomb it, we destroy it and now we're going to have to rebuild it. Gee.
