It carries a stigma partly because social conservatives are bewilderingly alien and partly because they are thought to be fascists for wanting to impose their social tabus on the rest of us through law.

This is so damned funny Karen. What a good stereotypical comment. Who are these fascists that want to impose on the rest of us? Bush, Cheney, Wolfy, Perle? That's what I heard last night on some of the after speech shows. I've known some pretty adamant moderates and liberals that want to "impose" on me...have imposed on me.

And moderate, what is moderate?.

Moderates agonize over decisions because they might be too extreme, yet when they do make decisions, they end up being extreme to someone. Better yet, these decisions are ineffectual and worthless.....like bombing tents in the desert. Although the tent owner probably thinks that would be pretty extreme.
