''On March 19, 2004, President Bush asked, 'Who would
prefer that Saddam's torture chambers still be open?'
Shamefully, we now learn that Saddam's torture chambers
reopened under new management - US management.''

The ONLY thing that stopped the new management from perpetuating the terror of the oppressed is that some dumb enlisted person gave incriminating photographs to the press, and that Americans have a conscience, which is clearly lacking in the military and the present administration.

Had we allowed the military and/or its police to scrutinize itself Bush still wouldn't know a damned thing about it and Rumsfeld would have overlooked it, while Ashcroft would have given guidance on how to further demean human dignity.
