France May Block Iraq Resolution

Sovereignty has been a big issue for France in recent weeks. Paris has been impatient with Britain's reluctance to hand over more power to the European Union in the constitution negotiations.

Yet today it emerged that foreign minister Michel Barnier has warned that France might veto the US-UK blueprint for Iraq - unless the Brits and Americans hand more sovereignty over to the Iraqi government.

Obviously France only trusts some nations to run their own affairs
