I will at least admit something most "moderates" can't or won't; I am biased. I try to go out of my way not to stereotype (I admit that I may falter occasionally.....FL has promised to point out when I do ;) and I especially abhor the use of tired, old stereotypical words that target people simply to advance a social or political agenda. Words designed to denigrate those who think differently by labeling someone Marxist, intolerant, religious fanatic, extremist, right wing, looney left, Taliban, Nazi, dumb ect...are used to make an opponent or perceived enemy impotent and are the methods used by a bully.
I also think this tactic is used by conservative media on a much smaller scale, such as it is, and I like seeing examples so I can compare. That I can do that here is not only appreciated but educational It is hard to do elsewhere......the playing field is narrow. I think there are a lot of people who feel the same way and the popularity of a more open media like FOX can be attributed to contributing to that newly awakened realization.
Fast track decisions have been/are the bane of democratic societies, but that type of manipulation has been used repeatedly by all sides imo, and I don't know how it can be stopped other than to simply not allow stereotyping. But ha....THAT will never happen, so it's a losing proposition.
I don't believe for one minute that all sides of important societal issues are fairly represented in courts partly due to those labels being freely thrown around by a too powerful and overly influential media.
