If they are planning on letting terrorist attacks happen this fall, ahead of the election, in hopes that people "rally around the flag" and re-elect the President in uncertain times, it might just backfire. People might wonder what the hell is wrong with this country? First the Iraq debacle, lies about WMDs, prison abuse scandal, then after all the spending on security after 9/11, another terrorist attack happens? People might throw their arms up in frustration and demand a change in leadership. Things certainly couldn't be any worse under John Kerry. At least we wouldn't have such a secretative, parnoid, bordering on facist regime like the one we have now. It's a sad time to be a conservative. In order to be a conservative you have to accept lies and propaganada and reguritate them to everyone else. Conservatism has lost it's meaning. What exactly DO they stand for these days?!? Higher deficits, more government, dishonest government? The Republicans have betrayed the cause of conservatism in the name of power, money and convience.
