"How many new terrorists are springing up (the CIA says "a lot") vs. how many take a dirt nap."
What do you think? And even if there are more that want to harm us in the short run, they are running out of places that support them. Afghanistan is gone, Iraq is gone (and will be replaced by a functioning society), Libya is gone. Phillipines they are losing ground. Pretty soon France, Spain and the demo party leadership in America will be their only source of comfort.
" For example: is Israel facing any fewer terrorists now, then decades ago, despite all they've killed?"
Why not just go back to the "infatada" that the Palestinians waged a few years back (when the Egyptian terrorist Arafat rejected statehood for the Palestinians) and start counting? Pretty peaceful until the Palestinians declared war (make that renewed their declaration). Then very violent. Now since the Israelis have targeted the leadership of terrorists (as we are doing), the death count is way down.
When you form your opinions on incorrect or irrelevent information, most likely your conclusions will be wrong.
"One doesn't need much (or even any) training to be a suicide bomber...."
You try to construct a bomb and put it on and select a target, etc. The leaders prey on young, hateful and stupid to do the deeds that they themselves would never do. When the leadership is mostly gone, even this simple act will be much more rare. And even already, there is no more Saddam to give the families of suicide terrorists $.
"but you can't ignore the year-to-year results as you go"
I'm not ignoring anything, and either is our leadership. When you make a big deal about us being at war with terrorists creating new ones, then you imply that we should just quit in hopes that the terrorists will become happy, well adjusted individuals that love freedom, capitilism, democracy and open mindedness. That is why the term "fool" comes to mind when I see the wringing of hands that "oh no, we're creating more terrorists". Might as well just go in a corner and pee yourself. |
