The draft is a good example of how the US Constitution has been completely tossed out the window. Placing any person, not a convicted criminal, into involuntary bondage is against the highest law of the land. It doesn't matter if it's picking cotton down South, or being shot at in the Middle East, it's against the law. Not that the law ever has much influence with law makers when it's inconvenient, but slavery is slavery no matter what some traitor in DC wants to call it.

And why discriminate based on age? If it's possible to find something useful for Generals in their late 50s to do, why should any mandatory service be limited to those under 26? Is it perhaps because virtually all law makers are over 26?

Of course if instead of blowing tax dollars on multi billion dollar war profiteering scams, our country paid fair wages to our mercenary forces, perhaps there would be enough mercenaries to do the job without resorting to enslaving minority sectors of the population.
