Iraq and Viet Nam have 100x more in common than WW2

in VN, the USA tried to install Nguyen Van Thieu as puppet
after deposing (CIA execution) Diem

when we starting this travesty war,
the key man was Chalabi as a nice puppet president
with the war going so badly, Chalabi has become a perfect fall guy

another remarkable element to this war is its speed
it took 4-5 years before it was evident we could not win in VNam
it took only 10-12 months in Iraq to realize its unlikelihood
the mere thought of 130 thousand troops to control a nation with 22 million is a total absurdity
that is the recipe for a carnival shooting gallery, as some generals warned
but a bigger troop presence would be objectionable to the US people and US Congress
so our refusal to do the job with bigtime force has put our soldiers in jeopardy

despite Bushy's claim of supporting the troops, much evidence points to the contrary
they must purchase some of their own essential protective gear
their HUMV's are rarely armored
their families back home are losing their homes
this war is badly planned and executed on almost every front
they surely get support when prosthetics are ordered and fitted
did you notice several VA centers closed down?
budget cuts, efficiency changes (more lack of support)

this whole war stinks
just like VNam, we refuse to be brutal enough, numerous enough, to win
so we again show no willingness to win
which would require absolute monstrous brutality

back in the 1960 decade, we had not acquired a distaste for soldier deaths
it took 20 thousand before we were disgusted
it took only 500 in Iraq

back in VNam, we thought little of several hundred paraplegics and men sporting prosthetics
it took only a few dozen in Iraq

unlike VNam, we will not abandon their oilfields
if we knew how much oil was off the VNam coast, I suspect the USArmy would have yielded to the USNavy and stuck around with ships offshore, laying claim to vast oil

thanks for sounding less like a moron
much appreciated
I hope you benefited from my 30-40 parallels to Viet Nam
that list is the result of several passes, adding each time
a little difficult to shrug that list off, eh hoser?

the degree of intellectual and ethical compromise exhibited by you Bushy War supporters is utterly astonishing
such is the nature of fighting terrorism
unfortunately, you cannot find a link between Al Qaeda and Iraq
except after we invaded !!!
Iraq has become a terrorism lightning rod

I am not saying Saddam was a prince
I am saying our actions made the entire situation worse
I have heard too many war supporting morons make the claim that "WE HAD TO DO SOMETHING"
to that I say, "THE WRONG RESPONSE IS WORSE THAN NOTHING"
we are now breeding new violent terrorists
we refuse to even learn from Roman Empire experiences 2000 yrs ago
or even learn from British Empire experiences 100 yrs ago
so we repeat their errors and losses
the United States of America is so arrogant that it ignores history consistently, to its detriment and its tragedy, not to mention its colossal losses
