What I find particularly amusing is the how people who solely read these type of papers, have a reflexive attitude of dismissiveness toward the new sources of news on the web.

They've been brainwashed for years and it cuts to the heart of so many of their assumptions that these papers are tested and edited correctly, they simply cannot admit they are often sloppy, lazy, and just plain biased.

I still remember, when the net was in its infancy, Hillary Clinton wanted to pass a law, which would shut down news sites on the net because they weren't "edited" by professionals. Professionals indeed. Thousands of high school papers across the country are checked for accuracy far better than the N.Y. Times.

If I owned the paper, I would fire every editor on the staff, most of the reporters, and hire people with journalistic integrity to write the paper.
