As an outsider, it appears to me that the US is the victim of a bloodless coup in which Christian fanatics, Zionists, Big Oil, the Banks and the Military-Industrial-Complex have taken control.
Of course I could be wrong and the present government is merely the manifestation of the "invisible" forces that have ruled for many years, and which are therefore perfectly acceptable to the majority of the Americans, who, while paying lip-service to the tenets of democracy, actually prefer fascism.
In this regard, however, the present government is forcing the American people to decide and is laying down the gauntlet to them by making it quite clear that democracy, in other words a government of the people, by the people, for the people, comes at a price. Americans can no longer take for granted that their Constitution, and particularly the Amendments to it, are cast in stone. |
