I don't think it applies. I think you are using the word "life" to mean much more than the biological process of being alive. There are thousands of living human cells in my saliva when I spit. I don't get too upset when it dries out and they die. You seem to want the life of a cell at conception to somehow be differnt from life of a cell after other forms of reproduction. Sure there are differences, but the difference is not that one is alive and the other is dead.

I suspect you are trying to mix and match the concept of life and self awareness. Self awareness certainly doesn't begin at conception so you substitute some other word to gloss over the holes in this very contradictory philosophy.
