the oppressed of the world might see liberation if they can offer oil supplies and airbases
I hear you, Uncle WestWing
but it aint that simple as liberation and honor
do you respect the rule of law? or just military endeavors?
no connection between Aghany and Iraq via Al Qaeda (there is now, since we have drawn in the AlQ boys) with no Congressional approval for Iraq, they extended funding off-budget with no reliable documents to present to the UN with full trampling of NATO why dont you stand up for NATO, as a retired military man?
this was deceptive and cowardly
I have nothing against sacrifice for liberty and opportunity but let's use our rules of law and not circumvent them let's use real justifications, not backdoor let's set real expectations
not a single thing about this war is going as planned except the quick removal of Saddam which is not enough to justify inadequate forces, inadequate planning, inadequate security, inadequate funding of escalating costs, etc
a real big objection I have about certain bad wars is the motivation to lose 10x more lives, "so that those who died, did not die in vain" this is precisely how Viet Nam escalated to 500 thousand troops and the death count went from 10 thousand to 50 thousand
is $100 billion in a sinkhole worth it annually? is $200 B per year worth it? is $300 B ?
what bothers me about even diligent responsible comments like yours is that they seem to have no inherent limits and they seem to sidestep carefully the rule of law
let's see if (inside the military) the little soldiers take the fall for Abu Ghraib prisoner violations !!! do you really think no officers, no majors, no generals gave orders "to do anything to get them to talk" ???
