Since I believe in the rule of law, I'd accept the result
under our present system of government.

It's a little presumptuous of you to assume that I'd be whining for four years, like some people have, over the distinction between a popular vote and a different outcome.

Popular vs. electoral votes may have a bearing
on whether the results could be interpreted as a
mandate for a particular program or platform.
Whether that is an eventual topic of discussion
remains to be seen.

Basically, from my POV, if Kerry wins it will only be because he is the default candidate.
I haven't much use for the man. He's given me no
reason not to vote against him.

I suspect that many who will vote "for" Kerry are really casting a vote against Bush.

As I've stated before, I can understand that POV much
better than any true "pro-Kerry" arguments.
