Hawk, if the Al Q attack is less than the Twin Tower attack, it'll be considered a fizzer. I'd say they are on their way out and it's just a matter of time before they run out of steam.

With Pakistan having been selling nuclear bomb-making technology, I don't see why they'd not have gone the whole hog and made real money by selling an actual nuke or three.
I wouldn't trust Ghadaffi's "turning over a new leaf". I am quite cynical about that. Perhaps he's okay with a truce and more normal relationships, but he's not all lovey-dovey. Maybe that new-found civilized approach is a decoy to make the USA think things are going okay. Maybe the shipment to Libya which was stopped was bait.

In 1999, I rented a car in New York and drove around the countryside, including around Washington, [getting a parking ticket for my troubles - I misread a sign]. I could have swung by a warehouse anywhere, such as a container-unpacking depot where customs guys would accept their usual bribe to let a load of opium through, loaded a noocular bomb into the boot and unloaded it in the back of a shop along with a load of kebab packaging. Maybe I'd need a van and a fork-lift [I don't know how heavy a little one is].
One day, when King George II is making a speech to Congress, or some other good time, I could put it in a van and deliver it to the centre! I might even have time to catch a taxi to the airport with a bit of luck.
My buddies in three or four other cities do the same.

Viceroys are sent to each country with instructions on the new constitutions. Islamic oil is confiscated as reparations from the Umma [Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, UAE, Java, Libya etc].
I wonder what the USA would do in response to such an attack.
