Who encouraged the Shias to rise up against Saddam and then failed to back them up, Pres Bush, Sr.

Who started this war? It wasn't Al Sadr and his rebels. It wasn't Saddam either. It was the U.S. and according to international law it was an agressive invasion that was not sanctioned by an international body like the UN. Anyone can debate the merits of going to war with Iraq. But the facts are that it is an illegal invasion according the tenants of international law that the U.S. supposedly abides by and the U.S. has totally killed our credibility in the world by attacking Iraq.

I understand how the world works all too well: oil + the need to control it (imperialism) = war with Iraq. Why did we attack Iraq, to prevent WMDs from hitting our shores? What about N. Korea and all the WMDs they're producing and perhaps selling? Oh, N. Korea has no oil, oh well, let them do what they wish.
