VP: The safe picks are Evan Bayh and Bill Nelson. Both are moderates (a little boring), and respected by both parties. Recent polls show a ticket with Bayh will carry Indiana. Nelson will probably ensure Florida (already leaning towards Kerry). John Edwards would add a spark to the ticket. If a landslide develops, Edwards might help carry the Atlantic Seaboard (Carolinas and Georgia). Of course Edwards made his money as a trial attorney; one of the extremists favorite whipping boys. Kerrey would be another solid choice. You would think it is hard to attack the patriotism of a "Medal of Honor" winner, but they will ... you know the will.
