"...And at the same time he thinks the way to energy independence is to drill for MORE oil?
Yes, dolt - that is correct. The first way to put a dent in our dependence for M.E. oil is to tap into more of our own resources - if we can every shoot some of the dumb-azz 'enviro-wacko's' and get that damn job done. Taking exception to the Exxon-Valdez mess (..which was a shipping accident..), oil from our national park reserves has been clean, safe, well maintained, and advantageous to the people from those areas.
The next thing to do is expand the use of Anaerobic Digestion of common wastes to provide "..biogas.." to offset pipeline gas and the use of fuel oil - while making electricity in a more distributed manner (..much less vulnerable to terrorist attack & disruption..). Powerhouses (coal, oil and gas-fired) are only about 35% efficient - maximum. Anaerobioc Digestion (AD) and a biogas-fired gas-turbine generating system exceed 70% efficiency. More when waste-heat recovery and combined-cycle (..biogas turbine plus steam turbine cogeneration..) is properly applied.
The third effort needs to be the refurbishing of old wells, using the newest fracturing technology, etc., to get more out what we already have. Wind energy, although helpful, is still not a dependable source except in a very few places. And, in general, it doesn't produce enough Megawatts to make much of a difference (..cost per kW is much higher than "AD", also..).
Try not to "..Hillary-Sputter.." about subjects you know very little about, OK. Hairy BS Kerry, Taudry Teddy, Blustering Byrd, and The (W)itch don't know jack-schmidt about enery issues, ...but, those of us who work in these industries do.....
John :-)
ps: Also, the sooner we can get some FUSION REACTORS online, the sooner we can tell the TowelHeads to "..go eat sand..". Less kooks, more NUKES - go team go......... . |
