Keith and Sig, the futures markets have priced in a Fed Funds rate of 3-3.5 percent, from what I have read in Barron's. It would take 4 half-point rate hikes by the Fed to get from 1 percent to 3 percent. And we still have the governor of the St. Louis Fed warning about the risks in mortgage-backed securities.
I'm not talking about today or next week, I'm talking about what things look like 6-9 months from now. Lower oil prices could be a nice painkiller for the monetary tightening ahead.
Only Greenie knows for sure.
