to me it is no surprise that people can kill and take hostages if they want.
i don't think it is practical to defend against this.
the question is what should be response to it. supposedly, much of saudi arabia's ruling family is now opposed to terrorists murdering arabs and muslims and is trying to stop it and doesn't want to fund it.
