Hi Mq: think of clouds as dispersed water emulsion in the atmosphere. Of course due to its visibility and content ("WATER!!") it's pretty evident and of course important as well. However, it's just one component among aerosols transported. Off my head I'd offer Carbon/graphite particles and different kinds of sulphates (CaSO4 to start with) and I will not even try to remember what the effects were. I'll offer the following PDFs

The Challenge of the Long-term Climate Change
mpimet.mpg.de

Global Air Quality and Pollution

cses.washington.edu

Modern Global Climate Change
cses.washington.edu

Note: the articles are all from Science, where I got my copies from as a subscriber. The complicated URLs are the disseminated free-for-all versions.

Let me say here for the record, I am glad as h*l that after all these years;P I can communicate with you at this level (*). Maurice... humanity is indeed moving towards it

Regards

dj
