>> After that post I am convinced most military personnel are not defending their country for America haters like you.

They are not defending their country at all. Imagining that Iraq attacked the US does not make it so. it is still a lie. If US forces in Iraq think they are defending the US, they are deluded. They are executing an imperialist policy that the president was duped into. Most non-coms re-enlist for their $10,000 bonus. Take that away, and see where the re-enlistment rate will be.

Jessica Lynch, when asked why she enlisted in the army said she did it because she could not find a job. And the same for her brother. And pretty much every enlisted person gives the same answer when asked why they went into the army.

The perfect example of how deluded the enlistees are is the football player who was killed by his comrades' friendly fire. Just what the hell did he accomplish ?

Forget Iraq for a moment. Think Afghanistan. What is the point of the US jumping on the side of some warlord then another ? There are some people who like the life style of the soldier. They surrender their moral judgement. They are willing to kill, and accept the risk of being killed. They exist in all societies. War gives them a chance to practice their aggressive drives. But they are not in general accomplishing anything either for their country or for humanity.
