Pam My notes are mental notes so I will try not to ramble. The first question from the floor was the exact question that I was prepared to ask. The person asking the question had something to do with making Ele's first financing arrangement for leasing equipment in the late 80's. Q; (As I would have asked it) How many times will you have to explain the price/demand/volume/profits equation to the analysts, before they get it? A: I am not sure. "Sandisk is not a complex Co. therefor, it is up to me to do a better job. I take the responsibility." (Not an exact quote) Q: I asked if the marriage between Kodak and Lexar would affect royalties from Kodak to Sandisk. A; " I would not call their arrangement a marriage. Whatever Lexar buys form Samsung to full fill their needs will bring us royalties." (I am not sure that I heard that answer correctly) Q: "What about the competition from the two together" A: "There is no doubt that it will be formidable. Q: "How long can you keep bringing on new cards. I know that you do a lot of research but how long before you run out the string? (something to that effect) A: No! you have to understand that this is a very very new technology, that we have built a very strong foundation and many different products can spring from this foundation. This cruzer hanging from my neck chain is an example of the vertical movement of the technology. We are working with the medical community to develop uses. Just because you have not heard anymore about the P-tags does not mean that we have not been working on the concept. These new uses take some time do get adopted. We believe that more uses will be developed. We are just in the beginning" I think that this gives you the flavor of the meeting. We did get to see a sneak preview of the T.V. add that is being developed. (coming soon) Interesting side lite: In attentence was a Asian woman, who, after the meeting joined the conversation that I was having with a Sandisk person. The woman noted that she was one of the first development engineers that worked for Eli in Israel, when the idea of Flash was nothing more than a embryo. When she was asked why she left the project she replied, " We had no idea that it would even work. Who could have imagined what has happened and is yet to come" At that she turned and walked out the door. Thanks for asking about the meeting. The tempo of the Valley is starting to quicken.
