I have noticed that and, indeed, the response often has little to do with the content of the message but is an attempt to insult the poster, especially on the "political" threads. In fact, some people go around with the sole intention of doing just that. On South African forums, for example, anyone who criticizes the government is immediately called a racist and that's the end of the discussion.
