I most definitely have a clue about people who think differently than I do.

There have been lots of them, and tons smarter than me. And I have been fortunate to have learned from them.

That's how I turned into a right thinking right winger after being a liberal with a skull full of porridge for most of my youth and early adulthood.

Let's not get so emotional about how horrible I am, how lacking in empathy I might be, and all those ad hominen things that really don't amount to a bucket of warm piss. I really don't come here to get warm and fuzzy, but to discuss issues that I consider important. If I wanted to discuss how baaaad I am, and what to do about it, I would go to some pop psychology forum. Or get a ticket to Esalen and hug trees.

I would really like to explore how it is that the economy and terrorism are or are not related and the effects that a terror strike at, say, Saudi Arabia's oil infrastructure might not make our economy hellish.

I linked what I thought was a very good article from The Economist that goes into a decent amount of detail into the economic issues. No one seems to be interested in it. Perhaps it is the Holiday. Perhaps its DeNile.
