Yes, Ish, the guy had balls the size of melons but that's not my point. My point is that when the Army lies and covers up it's mistakes, (and don't think there weren't some huge mistakes made when two patrols intersected without any idea the other was in the area,) then you can't trust the rest of the information.

The army should have immediately come clean because before the firefight was even over they had to KNOW that it was a friendly fire incident. If they had come clean and then they'd outlined his bravery in the face of what may have APPEARED to be an enemy ambush, I'd have a lot more trust in their veracity and I wouldn't be suspecting that they'd papered the whole thing with medals to make themselves look less inept and to prevent possible further "erosion" of support back home.

As it stands it's simply another reminder that we shouldn't "trust" in our leaders to tell the truth when they "need" our support to accomplish whatever goals underlie their mission.
