Marty-
The company who holds the patent to the drug that is chosen to inhibit telomerase is in the drivers seat- not the drug screening company.

In actuality, Pharmacia&Upjohn couldn't care less about telomerase, and I hope you know this.

You keep quoting these nobel prize winners as if they worked at Geron, which you know they don't.

Tom Cech probably cares mostly about the basic science of telomerase mainly because of it's RNA component and the fact that he is exploring some telomere binding proteins.

Lastly- the fact that so many drugs in chemical company freezers DO interfer with telomerase is actually more of a problem than a positive. In fact, so many things inhibit the PCR step in Geron's TRAP assay that way to many drug candidates are being detected. This leads to having to do telomere shortening assays with each drug- very time consuming assays.

I'm all for Geron's potential Marty- its just that you are such a PR cheerleader that you cloud the issue sometimes by screaming "go team go" without carefully considering the real issues.

Go for the long run.. louis mason.
