"Bandai Back as Major Player" Toys: Company that made the Power Rangers famous has another huge hit with Tomagotchis. It's already looking for the next big thing. (Times Staff Writer Patrice Apodaca) This is the LEAD story today in the Business Section of the Los Angeles Times, Orange County Edition. There is a 3 X 5 photo of the toys with Gene Morra, vice president of marketing for Bandai America. Sorry I can't download the story to everyone because it is GREAT. They can't fill the demand and just as good, quote industry insiders as saying that ... "Tomagotchis is the brand to beat. It was the first on everyone's lips" ... Toy consultant Ruth Rougberg. Also mentioned the fact that "Tamagotchi was the top-selling toy in the nation (!) in May and June, the last month that figures are available. Whole lots of other positive statements. IF the stock market follows stories like this, including comments like the profits are rolling in, then we have a BIG winner here. There was a lot about the need for follow on games and toys to keep the momentum going, It was a super story and well worth getting a copy, if you follow the stock.
