Russ:

The consensus view on oil seems to be that there is plenty of supply, but the price has been driven up by excessive speculation and a strong "fear factor" re: the possibility of major disruptions in Saudi Arabia.

The rather tepid performance of oil and especially oil service equities in the face of record high current dollar crude prices would seem to support this view.

Assuming no further disruptions in Saudi Arabia (a big if), crude could be nearer $30 than $40 before long IMHO.
