Why would a screening company care about the gene? The enzyme activity isn't that hard to isolate in its native form. Since its known that telomerase has at least 3 components- what does cloning one of them have to do with anything other than the interest of basic science? Do you think they are going to express one subunit of telomerase in pigs and sell it in a bottle? louis mason
