RT-Digital advertising tests..Sony..It has been proven that digital media can be up to seven times more effective than printed media and that over 70% of purchasing decisions are made at the point of sale (POS). Sony commissioned customer research that highlighted a double-digit sales uplift in products promoted on screen, compared to those promoted in print. The unique combination of display, media management and analysis technologies from Sony are designed to exploit these trends. Ultimately, Sony are providing the tools that enable the identification of customer buying patterns and the ability to gain knowledge into which marketing tools work. As a result retailers are able to deliver more effective marketing campaigns, reduce the costs associated with product development and know how to look after their key assets – the customers.

Ruminations:
HSS would aid in drawing initial attention to the screen, and would provide enriched content, as well as promote the feeling of intimacy, that only personally directed sound can bring. Not to mention the prevention of 'noise pollution'.
