I remember the 101 which deferred taking revenue recognition upon acceptance of performance vs shipment.

I'm not sure anyone liked that either - but it was universally phased in over a year.

Fasb has god like powers when it wants.

I'm not sure there is a politician around who wants to be in the pig trough with companies vs against the voting stockholders.

I applaud the aggressive stances being taken by Calpers and other large funds towards transparency and the stockholders rights as owners vs execs as employees.

I think the tide is still turning and executives will be wise to play up to stockholders rights. If done properly it will be very beneficial to the stockholders and the price of the stock will reflect in appreciation.

If Barrett just got ultra-conservative and played up to stockholders - the world would beat a path to Intc and the price wopuld be a quick double.

Those execs that dare to be conservative will be big winners in the nlong run.

Walmart had Sam And Hathaway has Warren - when will Intel wake up and smell the roses?

They'd be a much bigger cap company if they didn't fight it!
